The Nation's Weather for Sunday, October 1, 2023
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
As high pressure builds in behind an impactful flooding
event, the Northeast will have a dry day with more sunshine
tomorrow. This sprawling zone of quiet weather will extend
southward through most of the Florida Panhandle and westward
across northeastern Texas as warmer air continues to spread
from the South into the northern Plains. On the periphery of
this feature, repeated thunderstorms are expected yet again
across southern portions of Florida and Texas near a
slow-moving frontal zone. Farther west, a large storm will
continue to organize, bringing widespread rain, some snow at
the very highest elevations and even some thunderstorms from
the Sierra Nevada into northeastern Montana. Storms, some
with strong wind, will also develop in the afternoon across
eastern New Mexico.
