A judge has dismissed charges against six people in the death of a Michigan prisoner who lost 50 pounds over two weeks and died of dehydration while being restrained. Judge Charles Nebel says there is evidence of a lack of proper care for Jonathan Lancaster in 2019 but not enough for an involuntary manslaughter trial. He ruled in favor of two former officials at the Alger prison and four nurses. The 38-year-old Lancaster was in prison for robbery and gun crimes. His family says he had a history of mental illness and showed symptoms while in prison, including paranoia, anxiety and loss of appetite.
