Cork’s Shane Sweetnam completed a hugely impressive run of results at Geneva’s five-star show in Switzerland, when he guided the Irish Sport Horse James Kann Cruz to a podium finish in today’s €1.2 Million Rolex Grand Prix – part of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping. Sweetnam and the 9-year-old son of Cruising (ISH) [TIH], bred by Patrick Connolly, were among the 13 combinations who jumped clear in the opening round. Another clear in the jump-off in a time of 40.48 seconds would see Sweetnam take third place on the podium and over €180,000 in prize money. The winners prize of over €400,000 went to McLain Ward (USA) and HH Azur, while local favourite Martin Fuchs (SUI) finished as runner-up with Leone Jei.
