Adele reveals ‘livid’ boyfriend Rich Paul threatened to beat up man seen slipping her his number at Vegas show

REMIND me never to get on the wrong side of Adele’s boyfriend, RICH PAUL.

The superstar has admitted her sports agent partner was left “livid” after a video emerged from her Las Vegas residency on Friday night which appeared to show a man trying to slip her his number.

The fan is seen appearing to slip Adele his phone number – leaving her boyfriend Rich Hall ‘livid’ – but all was not as it seemed

Adele’s fella Rich Hall was so angry that Adele said he threatened to beat the fan up – but the tension eased when she revealed the fan’s true intentions[/caption]

In fact, Adele said he was so angry that Rich threatened to beat him up.

But she managed to ease the tension by revealing what had actually happened — the male fan had tried to flog a car to her halfway through her performance.

Laughed and cried

Speaking on stage at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace the following evening, Adele said: “Someone texted me something this morning saying that a guy tried to give me his number last night when I was walking through this way.

“He wasn’t, he was just trying to make me buy a car from him.

“I told my boyfriend and he was livid. He was like, ‘That man’s going to be put to sleep’.”

The Londoner, who was on fine form for the third set of shows in her Weekends With Adele residency, went on to criticise so-called stars who make music documentaries.

But she did so while commending her pal Lizzo, insisting that her recent film on US telly, Love, Lizzo, was one of a few good ones.

Adele explained: “I’ve seen her from time to time and we’ve had a few really amazing one-on-one-type emotional girlfriend conversations and stuff and I really think very highly of her.

“And her documentary . . . I hate music documentaries. I ain’t got time for no one doing documentaries who are in their thirties or forties. Unless you’re Tina Turner or The Beatles, get out of town.

“But I absolutely loved it, it was so sincere. It was so truthful. I enjoyed it so much and I laughed and cried.

“I loved seeing all the footage and all the photographs of her when she was little. She’s such an amazing person.

“She’s so thoughtful, she sends flowers to you, she remembers things about you. She’s amazing.”

Regardless of what she says, I have no doubt Adele will drop her own documentary before long.

Take a boa, Flo

SHE went home empty-handed from the British Independent Film Awards, but Florence Pugh was still the biggest attraction of the night.

She continued to celebrate at a bash afterwards, having only recently jetted back to the UK from Los Angeles[/caption]

The Oxford-born actress had all eyes on her in this extravagant pink dress for the ceremony on Sunday at Old Billingsgate in London.

She missed out on the two awards she was nominated for – Best Lead Performance and Best Ensemble Performance – both for The Wonder.

However, she continued to celebrate at a bash afterwards, having only recently jetted back to the UK from Los Angeles.

Paul Mescal’s new drama Aftersun was the big winner, scooping seven awards including Best British Independent Film.

Two and a half years on from his breakout role in the BBC’s Normal People, he’s done pretty well for himself.

OLLY MURS is on track to go to No 1 with Marry Me, which would be his fifth chart-topping album.

The Die Of A Broken Heart singer’s record has taken an early lead in the midweek chart update, ahead of Taylor Swift’s Midnights at No 2 and Cliff Richard’s Christmas With Cliff at No 3.

Meanwhile, Fleetwood Mac’s music is shooting back up the charts following the death of Christine McVie last week.

The group’s 1977 album, Rumours, has had a 200 per cent uplift and is at No 9 while their greatest hits collection is at No 14.

Lew’s new for Matt

LEWIS CAPALDI has been vocal about how his second album will be very similar to his debut because that one was so successful.

But fans can expect something new for the third album with Lewis getting together to work on tracks with The 1975’s Matty Healy[/caption]

But it sounds as though he is ready to do something completely different on his third album after getting in the studio with The 1975 frontman Matt Healy.

They wrote together for Lewis’ upcoming record Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent but the track was deemed too “weird”.

Lewis explained: “The song we wrote is really good and I love it. And I listen to it all the time.”

But asked if it would be on the album, he replied: “No. Because it’s weird. It’s because it’s proper, proper weird and I’m not there yet.

“Maybe next record we’ll get a bit freaky with it.

“It was such an amazing thing to be in a room with him. And then I was supposed to do another couple of sessions with him and I got Covid so I couldn’t do it. But, we got a song out of it.”

The singer, whose new single Pointless is at No5 in the midweek charts, went on to say it was his sense of humour which initially caught Matty’s attention.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Lewis said: “He reached out to me on Twitter initially and was like, ‘Mate, you’re class,’ more talking about interviews and stuff.

“He said, ‘It’d be good to get together, write some songs and write some funny lyrics’.”

DAWN'S ROYAL MOVE

DAWN FRENCH is convinced the Queen used to get around on a skateboard because she couldn’t get over how quickly the late monarch moved.

Speaking on the Here Lies Dawn French podcast, the comedian said: “I met her a couple of times, actually, and I’ll tell you something.

“She was not tall, so I quite like somebody on my level that I can look into the eyes of directly.

“Also I could believe that she was on a skateboard underneath the dress because, when I did meet her at Windsor Castle for some artsy-fartsy do, she slid along up to me.

“She was either moving very, very fast or was being pulled along on a skateboard.

“She was suddenly at my side and it was quite alarming. I saw her at the other side of the room and she was suddenly next to me. But she was very nice to me.”

Claw blimey, Cardi

THERE have been reboots of almost every film franchise going, so I assume Cardi B is clawing at the chance of taking over from Hugh Jackman in a new version of Wolverine.

Cardi B shows off her nails on a night out in Miami[/caption]

The WAP rapper showed off these ridiculously long nails while out in Miami on the weekend, making her hands look just like those of Hugh’s character in the series of films.

Hugh played the role in nine movies from 2000’s X-Men to 2017’s Logan but last year ruled himself out of a return.

He said at the time: “It’s still a character I hold close to my heart. But I know it’s done. Tell that to whoever you want to.”

Cardi has had a handful of acting roles, including in Jennifer Lopez’s stripper drama Hustlers.

She would certainly sex up this superhero franchise.

ROB TAKES THE CROWN

HE is already the King of the UK charts, having overtaken ELVIS PRESLEY’s record of 13 UK No1 albums.

So it seems rather fitting that Robbie Williams will play a massive royal gig next summer.

Robbie has announced a special gig at Sandringham on August 26 which will feature a string of special guests.

A great piece of birthday Blake

COMBINE the world’s greatest artists with the world’s greatest artistes and it’s a recipe for pop culture perfection.

Sharron Latham
The world of music came together with the art world to celebrate the legendary Pete Blake on his 90th birthday[/caption]

Peter Blake, the legendary genius behind seminal album covers including The Beatles’ Sgt Peppers and Live Aid celebrated his 90th birthday at a star-studded gathering this weekend – courtesy of Paul Weller who curated a jaw-dropping line-up of A-listers who had collaborated with him throughout a stellar career.

But while these evenings can occasionally lead to an excruciating clamber for top billing among invited guests, Friday’s gig was a celebration in every sense of the word – with luminaries including Noel Gallagher, Chrissy Hynde, The Who and Madness content to share the plaudits and play second fiddle to the inspirational artist – who quipped: “It’s not actually my birthday, but it’s close enough.”

Contributions from fellow star names including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and David Hockney added to the sense of magnitude.

The evening was a reminder that when art forms collide, the result can be so much more than the sum of its parts – while hits including The Pretenders’ 2000 Miles and the very best of Oasis’ catalogue stood out among a sea of brilliance.

In 15 years of reviewing gigs, I can’t recall a more magnificent mix of artistic magic.
