Boris Johnson has taken a consistently tough line on Russia amid its encirclement of Ukraine. He noted that Britain will be judged by how it responds and earlier this month committed to “come down like a steel trap in the event of the first Russian toe-cap” should President Vladimir Putin further encroach into Ukrainian territory.
