IF anyone has taken note of the ‘keep calm and carry on’ memo, it’s Alan Carr.
The comedian announced he’d split from his husband of three years Paul Drayton on Friday after over a decade together.
Comedian Alan Carr, who split from husband Paul Drayton on Friday, spent Saturday night boozing with fans following his gig in Southend-on-Sea[/caption] He joked ‘it is good news if you’re a horny groupie into chubby homosexuals’ – pictured with husband Paul Drayton during happier times[/caption]But rather than cancel his work commitments and take time away for himself, Alan went straight back out on the circuit and spent Saturday night boozing with fans following his gig in Southend-on-Sea. Take note, snowflakes.
A source said: “Alan was the life-and-soul following his gig in Essex and headed straight for The Seven Hotel where he was staying for an impromptu after party.
“He spent the night buying drinks for guests and talking with them in the hotel bar until the early hours. Alan was in great spirits and had other guests in hysterics.”
The source added: “He didn’t shy away from his split with Paul either and was happy to speak about it. It was clear there was no bad blood and Alan made it clear he just wanted to get on with life.”
Judging by the morning-after picture of Alan strolling with a hot drink, left, it was a late night. At his comedy gig, Alan was in equally good form and cracked jokes about his break-up with Paul.
Alan told the crowd at the sold-out Cliffs Theatre: “You might have read I am going through a divorce. I know it is always sad when couples go apart but it is good news if you’re a horny groupie into chubby homosexuals. Travelodge room 242…”
Alan also opened up about life without Paul, admitting he’d spent the festive season indulging in a little bit too much booze.
He added: “I got so pi**ed over Christmas. I just sat on the sofa having red wine after red wine with a box of Quality Street.” Alan has stuck by Paul through thick and thin – helping him with multiple rehab stints.
But after Paul was nailed for drink-driving in November, he was told he would be facing prison time. On Friday the pair, who were married by Adele back in 2018, announced they had split for good in a joint statement and Paul said he had taken himself back into treatment.
I can see why now would be a good time for the pair to make a clean break. And I only have admiration for Alan and the way he has handled this whole situation. The next time you hold an impromptu knees up after a gig in my neck of the woods, the drinks are on me, Alan.
JESY NELSON is beaming like the California sunshine after spending the weekend with pals in Los Angeles.
The former Little Mix singer has flown out to the Golden State to work on new music.
Jesy Nelson is beaming after spending the weekend with pals in Los Angeles[/caption]Jesy was photographed enjoying some downtime with pals yesterday. The Bad Boyz singer headed out for lunch in a pair of camouflage shorts, a bikini top and army boots.
Jesy previously admitted to fans she was struggling with jet lag after touching down in the US last Wednesday.
Filming herself in bed, Jesy said: “I’ve never felt jet lag this bad. My eyes are literally burning and I don’t even feel like I’m here. I feel like I am just in a daze constantly and I don’t know what to do because all I want to do is sleep.”
If counting sheep doesn’t work, Jesy, I’d recommend a good bottle of red wine. You’ll drop off in no time.
NORWEGIAN star Aurora came to prominence here covering OASIS’s Half The World Away for the 2015 John Lewis advert – but thinks the whole thing was “absurd”.
She never heard from the group after releasing her acoustic version, but said: “I met Liam Gallagher and he seemed nice. But if someone recorded my song and used it in a Christmas ad, I’d think it very absurd.”

She says: “The castle was surrounded by huge mountains so it was empowering and dramatic. It was beautiful.
PHARRELL WILLIAMS proved he’s a real diamond geezer as he arrived at Kenzo’s fashion show in Paris.
The Happy singer rocked up to the event in the Place des Victoires yesterday and unveiled a pair of dazzling gem-encrusted sunglasses which he’d designed in collaboration with jeweller Tiffany & Co.

Speaking about his new venture, the N.E.R.D. singer – who has had nine UK Top Ten singles including two No1s – said: “Tiffany and I are engaged.”
He went on to say his funky shades were the “first of many things” he is planning with the US-based firm.
Pharrell is no stranger to designing his own jewellery and previously teamed up with bling label Louis Vuitton.
ONLY last week I revealed Lottie Moss had grown close to rapper Milkavelli.
But while pals of the pair told me the model was head-over-heels with the tattooed Londoner, it seems things have already turned sour.
Lottie has since unfollowed him on social media and her gushing comments about his pictures have been deleted.
On Saturday she posted a bikini snap on Instagram with the caption: “I’m officially moving to an island where no one can hurt me ever.”
The night before, she was photographed with pals in London’s Soho before hitting cabaret club The Windmill.
They do say the best fix for heartbreak is a shot of tequila and a night out with your pals. Or is that just me?
ROMAN KEMP might not be the obvious candidate to find Britain’s best make-up artists.
But the Capital FM DJ is getting involved with a host of stars for Glow Up – a BBC Three special as part of Comic Relief’s next Red Nose Day campaign.
Roman Kemp is getting involved with a host of stars for Glow Up – a BBC Three special[/caption]A source said: “Glow Up is a show about finding some of the country’s best make-up artists – so it’s probably the last place you’d expect to find Roman. But when he was approached about getting involved and helping raise some cash for Comic Relief he jumped at the chance.
“Roman was one of the many stars involved in the shoot, where he tried out some make up looks. It was a fantastic day and the episode will air on BBC Three in March.”
Roman shared a behind-the-scenes snap from the shoot on Instagram last week but stayed tight-lipped over what exactly he’d been up to. Pouting while wearing a bright purple, glittery lipstick, Roman captioned the photo: “Filmed something very silly, very fun and very sexy today.”
I last caught up with Roman while he was hosting Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball back in December. He did a sterling job of overseeing proceedings across both Saturday and Sunday night.
Afterwards, he indulged in a glass or five of red wine with Ed Sheeran then partied until dawn with Scots singer Lewis Capaldi. Knowing how much fun Roman is, I look forward to seeing exactly what he gets up to on Glow Up . . .
JESSIE J has been in the industry for over a decade but the Domino singer admits she still hasn’t got used to life in the spotlight.
Jessie, who has a combined Twitter and Instagram following of 19 million, pretends to be snooty for a prank so people will keep her grounded.
She said: “I like to f*** with people all the time so I know some people think I am really rude and arrogant because I just like to mess with people. Being famous is really weird and I don’t ever want to get used to it.”
She is currently preparing to return with a new album. As well as being her most personal yet, one of the tracks will directly reference her former relationship with Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum.
