Carly Waddell's Bachelor in Paradise costars, Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon, are 100% in support of Carly becoming the next bachelorette. In season 19 of The Bachelor, Waddell fought for the love of Chris Soules but was ultimately eliminated during week seven. She then went on to attempt to find love during the 2nd season of BIP, but when she was unsuccessful, returned once again for season 3. During this season, she met Evan Bass and at the end he proposed to Carly and they soon began their life together.
In July of 2017, Carly and Evan became husband and wife during an intimate wedding officiated by Chris Harrison. Less than a month later, the two announced they were expecting their first child together, and on February 15, 2018, Isabella was born. In November of 2019, Carly gave birth to her second child with Evan, Charles. In December of the next year, they announced they were separating. Ashley and Jared have been huge supporters of Carly throughout her journey. The two women competed on season 19 of The Bachelor and then all three of them were on both seasons two and three of BIP. Although Jared continuously rejected Ashley on BIP, they have since gotten married and are now expecting their first child together.
On Tuesday, Ashley and Jared exclusively told Us Weekly that they believe their close friend, Carly Waddell, would make a perfect bachelorette. "I know I say this about a lot of people, but I am all in on Carly Bachelorette 2022," Jared said. "She's awesome. I'm totally in for Carly Bachelorette 2022 because it would just be such a great story. She deserves it. She's an incredible person, she has wonderful kids." They argued that since Carly was previously married with kids, her story would be inspiring to those watching and prove that it's never too late to find the love of your life.
Jared and Ashley expressed the love they have for Carly and how she has been a great friend to them throughout the years. "Ashley was telling me that she talked to Carly at her [baby] shower and Carly said, 'It's nothing but awesomeness and it's great.' And it's the stories like that that get us, you know, [excited]," Jared said. "They're like, 'Yeah, sure, you might not sleep for a while, but it's awesome.' Hearing Ashley tell me what Carly had to say to her was really nice." They both appreciated all the nice things Carly said to Ashley about having their first baby, especially when so many other people have been scaring them. They would say things like how their "life is gonna be turned upside down" once they have their son instead of comforting messages like Carly's words.
Although Bachelor Nation has yet to announce any details about the next season of The Bachelorette, Ashley and Jared hope it will be their friend Carly Waddell. They were petitioning for her to land the gig, but Waddell has yet to speak out about their abundance of support. Ashley did state that she thinks Carly would "totally" take the job if it was offered to her.
