The first cards of the Magic: The Gathering and Stranger Things Secret Lair have been revealed, giving fans a first look at Jim Hopper and Eleven.
Fans of Magic: The Gathering have been treated to an early look at the upcoming Stranger Things Secret Lair thanks to reveals of Eleven and Jim Hopper's cards. The Stranger Things collaboration marks yet another big-name crossover for MtG, following on from the likes of The Walking Dead and Dungeons and Dragons.
Stranger Things is one of the biggest series under Netflix's belt, wowing viewers with its drama and horror since the first season aired back in 2016. The show's popularity has ensured its stories and many characters have appeared in multiple games over the years, including the series' own dedicated adventure Stranger Things 3: The Game, as well as Dead by Daylight. Viewers are still patiently for a release date for the shows' fourth season, but there's also lots of other Stranger Things content to look forward to. As well as the upcoming Magic: The Gathering crossover, gamers have the recently-announced Stranger Things Far Cry 6 DLC soon heading their way.
Two of the upcoming MtG Stranger Things Secret Lair cards have been revealed via IGN, teasing some of what the new expansion will have to offer ahead of its release. The new cards feature Chief Jim Hopper and Eleven the Mage, with both being Legendary Creatures and both sharing the "Friends Forever" ability, allowing them to be partnered together to lead a Commander deck. Each card has unique yet iconic art, showing some of the characters' most memorable moments in the show.

The first look at the new Magic: the Gathering cards also show off their uses, with Human Soldier Chief Jim Hopper able to investigate once each time he attacks with "Menace." Meanwhile, Human Wizard Eleven will allow users a maximum hand size of 11. The Magic: The Gathering Stranger Things Secret Lair will include eight mechanically unique cards and a themed Clue token, and is set to release with six more Secret Lairs this month. Preorders for the new Secret Lairs will begin next week from October 18.
Wizards of the Coast is no stranger to collaborations, and the upcoming Stranger Things Secret Lair could be one of its most popular yet. Fans of Magic: The Gathering can't seem to get enough of crossover content with shows like The Walking Dead, and hopes are high for the success of the new Stranger Things cards. The company previously revealed an MtG and Lord of the Rings Secret Lair is also in the works, though no release date has yet been announced.
