Eivor can now transmog clothing into anything they've picked up previously. Head over to Gunnar in Ravensthorpe. Make sure to have 50 silver on hand.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla set a new bar for future titles to reach. Eivor's Viking tour around Medieval England shook up the established Assassin's Creed formula and focused more on open combat than pure stealth. With future expansions on the way, the wide open-world of Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is about to get even bigger. However, one feature present in past Assassin's Creed titles was missing at Valhalla's launch.
The most recent update, Title Update 1.2.0, gave players the ability to change the appearance of Eivor's clothing and armor in-game. This feature is present in past Assassin's Creed games, most notably as dyes from Games like Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Origins. However, Eivor has since been stuck with the way his/her armor looks. That's changed since the update as players can now transmog Eivor's clothing. Here's how to transmog clothing items in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and where players must go to do so.
To transmog items in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, head to Gunnar, the Ravensthorpe blacksmith. His forge is located left of the docks. It should have been the first building players built when they arrived in England. Speak with Gunnar as if going to upgrade Eivor's gear. Instead of being prompted, players will be taken directly to the upgrade screen.
Tab over twice to find the 'change appearance' screen. Players will then select the item they wish to transmog. They'll be given a list of options restricted to the gear they've already obtained and upgraded. For example, Eivor cannot transmog a Huntsman's Helm into a mythical Brigandine Helm if they have not obtained previously obtained and upgraded it.
Once players have chosen an item they wish to make, they can go through with the transmog process for the price of 50 silver. They'll know which gear they've transformed by a small star on the top left corner of the item. This new transmog feature allows players to 'wear' the armor sets they prefer the aesthetic of without sacrificing set bonuses.
The most important thing to remember when going to transmog clothing is that players must have previously found the items in-game. They, however, don't have to have it in their inventory. Imagine Eivor to have a photographic memory. As long as they've seen it once, they can tell Gunnar how to make it.
Should Assassin's Creed: Valhalla ever adopt any form of PvP mechanic, it's reasonable to believe that altered clothing will not be usable. It would prove to be an unfair advantage for players who appear to be wearing one thing but receiving the bonus effects of another. Assassin's Creed: Valhalla has plenty more in store for fans of the game. Rumors about the next Assassin's Creed title are already spreading.
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Last-Gen
