ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Truett McConnell is the team to beat to win the 2020 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's soccer championship, according to the AAC Coaches' Poll released on Friday.
The coaches voted on the poll, ranking the teams 1-14 with teams receiving 14 points for a first-place vote, 13 for second, 12 for third, and so on.
Truett McConnell shared the 2019 regular-season championship with Tennessee Wesleyan as both posted a 12-1 league record. The Lady Bears went on to win the AAC Tournament and finished the season 18-2. Truett McConnell garnered 11 first-place votes for 192 points.
Tennessee Wesleyan finished the season 17-4 overall and is picked second with three first-place votes and 184 points.
Rounding out the top five are Reinhardt, Milligan, and Bryan.
The regular season is set to begin Sept. 15. The tournament will begin in early November.
