No one in the Tiz the Law camp is in any real rush to get the Travers here, except for maybe Tiz the Law.
The 3-year-old colt put the finishing touches on his Midsummer Derby preparations with a five-furlong work early Saturday morning on the main track at Saratoga Race Course.
With exercise rider Heather Smullen in the saddle, the New York-bred champ of the Belmont Stakes was one of the first horses to step on the track, hitting it at 5:30 a.m. Accompanied by trainer Barclay Tagg on his pony, Tiz the Law went the distance in a time of 59.44 seconds.
