Warby Parker Rolls Out Private Label Daily Contacts Brand
Warby Parker has launched the Scout brand of daily contact lenses. Customers will be able to visit a Warby Parker store to receive an optical exam, a new pair of glasses and a three-month supply of lenses.
“We recognized that a sizable percentage of our customers also wear contact lenses, which meant they had to visit different doctors and eyewear stores to fulfill all of their vision needs," said Dave Gilboa, Warby Parker Co-Founder and Co-CEO in a statement. "The addition of Scout really puts us in a position of being a one-stop shop.”
Customers will be able to request a free trial of Scout that includes six days’ worth of daily contacts, and a three-month supply will cost customers $110. Warby Parker did not provide the name of the Japanese manufacturer that will be making the contacts.
In addition to selling Scout both online and in-store, Warby Parker also will carry prominent competing contact lens brands including Acuvue, Alcon and CooperVision.
Warby Parker has 109 stores across 30 states and Washington, D.C.; the retailer’s goal is to add 35 more locations to its brick-and mortar presence in 2020. All new locations will employ on-site eye doctors, with some additional doctors being added at existing locations.
