APOLLO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A United States Coast Guard crew rescued two people from a capsized canoe.
The agency said in a news release that two people were holding onto the canoe when rescuers arrived Wednesday morning.
The Coast Guard received a 911 notification from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, which also sent a crew to Bullfrog Creek near Apollo Beach. The two people were taken to Williams Park Marina.
Officials say they were not injured.
Station St. Petersburg Chief Petty Officer Kris Rady said they were glad to see the two people wearing lifejackets when they arrived to help.
