PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A prominent Rhode Island prep school is investigating decades-old allegations of sexual misconduct.
The Moses Brown School in Providence says in a letter this week that a former student alleges two teachers sexually abused him while he attended the Quaker school in the 1960s.
Head of School Matt Glendinning says he's been in contact with the alumnus for weeks and is "deeply concerned" and profoundly saddened by the allegations. He says the school failed to keep the student safe and that he was sorry for that.
Glendinning says both teachers are deceased, and the school won't release their names until it investigates whether there were other victims or perpetrators.
