Despite a brief break from showers on Saturday and Sunday morning, Bay Area residents may want to pull out their rain boots and umbrellas again as multiple weather systems will soak the region this week, officials said.
The first of the rainfall will last from late Sunday afternoon into Monday as part of series of weather systems expected to drench the San Francisco Bay Area through Thursday, said Cynthia Palmer, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
More storms will follow on Tuesday, followed by another on Wednesday and Thursday, Palmer said. The Bay Area could see between 2 and 3 inches of rain, and even more than 4 inches in higher elevations and mountain regions, she said.
