Two teenagers were killed Friday evening and four others were injured when their vehicle crashed into a tree in Antioch, authorities said.
The collision occurred about 7 p.m. at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Indian Hill Drive, said Sgt. Matthew Harger, a spokesman for Antioch police.
Two 13-year-old girls were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names were not released.
A 16-year-old boy was ejected from the vehicle, and three 17-year-old girls, including the driver, were trapped in the car when authorities arrived.
The Contra Costa Fire Protection District assisted police in removing the girls from the vehicle.
The girls and boy were transported to a hospital with moderate to life-threatening injuries, police said.
