The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country with prospect of isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Mambilla plateau, Ibi, Jos, Kaduna, Lafia and Makurdi.

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy weather conditions over the central states of the country with prospect of isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Mambilla plateau, Ibi, Jos, Kaduna, Lafia and Makurdi on Monday morning.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Saturday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 25 to 36 and 16 to 26 degrees celsius respectively.
It added that localised thunderstorms were expected over Abuja, Jos, Bauchi, Mambilla plateau, Jalingo and Minna axis during the afternoon and evening hours.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience cloudy conditions with prospect of isolated thunderstorms over few places like Enugu, Calabar, Obudu and Uyo axis during the morning hours.
It also predicted localised thunderstorms over Akure, Lagos, Benin, Portharcourt, Calabar and Eket later in the day keeping most part of the region in cloudy conditions during the afternoon and evening hours.
NiMet further predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 28 to 34 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively over the southern states during the forecast period.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with chances of localized thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Sokoto and Yelwa axis in the afternoon and evening period.
“Northern states will also have day and night temperatures in the ranges of 34 to 43 and 17 to 29 degrees celsius respectively.

“Cloudy conditions with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over some places in the country are expected to prevail in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicts.
