The Armenian opposition presented an ultimatum to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the opposition movement “Dashnaktsutyun” Ishkhan Saghatelyan.
According to one of the organizers of the protest in Yerevan, the protesters will unblock the entrances to parliament only if Pashinyan resigns and announces early parliamentary elections. Saghatelyan called on the prime minister to appear at the National Assembly on March 10 and leave his post. Nevertheless, the opposition representative noted that Pashinyan will not take such a step, since all his statements about early elections are “just another lie.”
It is noted that at the moment the demonstrators have blocked the entrances to the parliament and set up tents there.
Earlier it was reported that protesters in Yerevan surrounded the residence of Armenian President Armen Sarkissian. A video posted online shows protesters gathering at the gate. A cordon of security forces was lined up near the residence, the protesters keep at a safe distance.
