Inter and Perisic push PSV for reunion, Asllani ready for Besiktas
Ivan Perisic met with PSV Eindhoven directors today and multiple sources report the club is refusing to let him reunite with Inter, while Kristjan Asllani flies out for Besiktas tonight.
The idea of bringing the veteran back to San Siro emerged after Denzel Dumfries had surgery to stabilise his ankle, with Luis Henrique struggling to fill the gap on the right wing.
PSV Eindhoven should’ve been more open to an exit after their elimination from the Champions League last night.
Perisic wants a return to Inter
However, multiple sources report that today Perisic met with the Dutch club and asked to be released, only to be told they had no intention of letting him leave mid-season.
The situation remains open, depending on how much the Croatia international manages to convince PSV that this is no ordinary move.
He will turn 37 next week and is on impressive form with five goals and 10 assists in 28 competitive games this season.
Perisic already wore the Inter jersey from 2015 to 2019, before the loan to Bayern Munich.
Meanwhile, Inter have agreed a deal with Besiktas to loan midfielder Asllani for the next six months, with an option to buy at the end of the season.
He had been at Torino, but was not part of coach Marco Baroni’s plans and handed back to the Nerazzurri early.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Besiktas will cover all of Asllani’s salary.
