By now, you’ve surely heard about what’s been one of the most impressive scoring droughts we’ve ever seen from an NFL player, Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride going 89 catches into a season without a touchdown. That mark is good enough for the most ever in a single season without a touchdown, though he has three games left to make sure that record never goes down in history.
That begins Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, and if he can’t score in this one we might just need to accept it’ll never happen. No team has allowed more touchdowns to tight ends this season than the Panthers at 10. Best of all, Kyler Murray is aware of McBride’s unlikely streak and wants to help end it.
“85 will touchdown the end zone soon, I promise,” Murray said, somewhere.
A good matchup combined with added effort from his quarterback gives McBride a great shot at finally reaching pay dirt. Here’s that prop and more of my favorite touchdown scorers for Week 16, with odds from BetMGM.
