We’re still quite some time away from the beginning of next WNBA season with the season not beginning until May, but that doesn’t mean it’s too soon to get yourself ready.
It’s schedule release day, folks. Teams across the league now know who they’re playing next season and when, exactly, they’re playing them. And a bunch of them got as creative as possible when sharing the schedule with fans.
The Aces used an old Key and Peele sketch that was perfect. Chicago used an awesome TikTok trend. The Mystics tapped in with a local DC artist to make a song out of their schedule. The WNBA seemed to have much fun with the schedule this offseason.
Here’s a look at what every team did.
The Liberty put Ellie through a lie detector test to reveal their schedule. Are we sure Ellie isn’t the face of the league at this point?
Shoutout to the Seattle Storm for getting creative and using movie posters to do this. My personal fave? The Phoenix Mercury reveal. It looks like Dune.
Speaking of the Mercury, Phoenix used a simple hype video for its schedule reveal.
The Sun got a bit creative and used the weather app to reveal the upcoming schedule for this season. This is fun.
Classic use of records here from the LA Sparks. This is great. Also, big shoutout to Sparky the Dog for coming through for this one.
The Lynx’s Spotify Wrapped schedule reveal might be my favorite. Make sure you watch until the end, Liberty fans.
The Indiana Fever had Freddy Fever and Lil Freddy play Pictionary for the team’s schedule reveal. This was fun.
The Mystics tapped in with local artist Noochie to make a song revealing its schedule and had a mini-concert on the Front Porch — a D.C. staple.
We are officially welcomed to the cookout, folks! The Dream did its thing with this one.
The Dallas Wings tapped in with Keith Lee to reveal parts of its schedule. I have to say, though. Some of that food looks WILD.
The Ace’s used a classic Key & Peele sketch for Vegas’ schedule reveal. Again, more Liberty shade.
This one from Chicago is great. Who knew the Suspect Challenge on TikTok would be the perfect medium to reveal the schedule? Apparently, someone in Chicago did.
The Valkyries kept it simple with a calendar reveal. Not ruffling any feathers early on, I see.
