Cameron Ward and the Miami Hurricanes (10-1) will take on LeQuint Allen and the Syracuse Orange (8-3) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET, in a matchup between two of the biggest offensive stars in college football.
In their last game, the Hurricanes beat the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 42-14. The Orange’s most recent outing finished in a 31-24 win over the UConn Huskies. Against the Demon Deacons, Ward led the Canes with 280 yards on 27-of-38 passing (71.1%) for two touchdowns and one interception. He also carried the ball three times for -5 yards and one rushing touchdown. Jordan Lyle rushed for 115 yards on seven carries (16.4 yards per carry) and one touchdown, adding one reception for three yards. Jacolby George had 91 yards on seven catches (13.0 per reception) with two touchdowns in that game. Kyle McCord threw for 470 yards for the Orange against the Huskies, going 37-for-47 (78.7%) with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He added six carries for 1 yard and one touchdown. Allen carried the ball 20 times for 58 yards (2.9 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. In the passing game, he added five catches for 30 yards. Darrell Gill Jr. caught nine passes for 177 yards (19.7 yards per catch).
