On Thursday at 7:30 p.m. ET, two star rushers will be featured when Makhi Hughes and the Tulane Green Wave (9-2) take on Mario Anderson and the Memphis Tigers (9-2).
The Green Wave head into the matchup after winning 35-0 over the Navy Midshipmen in their last game on Nov. 16. The Tigers are coming off of a victory over the UAB Blazers by the score of 53-18. In that matchup with the Midshipmen, Darian Mensah had 138 yards on 10-of-14 passing (71.4%) for the Wave, with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also carried the ball eight times for 57 yards and one rushing touchdown. Hughes took 22 carries for 82 yards (3.7 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, while adding one reception for three yards in the passing game. Dontae Fleming had 56 yards on two catches (28.0 per reception) in that game. Seth Henigan’s showing for the Tigers against the Blazers included 23-of-34 passing for 299 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. In that matchup, Anderson had a 22-carry, 138-yard game (6.3 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. He also added four receptions for 36 yards . Koby Drake collected three catches for 56 yards (on three targets).
