The Bears enter week 5 with a 2-2 record after a big win against the Los Angeles Rams. This week, they’ll be in the noon window as they take on the 1-3 Carolina Panthers. Here are my three bold predictions for this matchup.
The debate between Jayden Daniels and Caleb Williams has been blown out of proportion. A strong performance from Williams could quiet the chatter. Though we’re only four games into the season, it would be great to see the offense shine against one of the league’s worst teams.
Since the Panthers benched former number one overall pick Bryce Young, Andy Dalton has taken over and put on quite a show. Dalton has thrown for 559 yards, 5 touchdowns, and just 1 interception, earning a QB rating of 103.4 in his two starts. He’s been on fire and provided the spark Carolina needed. However, I believe his hot streak will end this week, as the Bears defense, particularly their star-studded secondary, will likely get the better of him.
The Panthers are dealing with significant injuries, particularly with both starting linebackers out. This opens the door for two Bears wide receivers to have big time performances, and possibly a big game from tight end Cole Kmet as well.
