No. 11 Mizzou’s season opener against Murray State was never going to be close.
The Tigers are an SEC contender. The Racers were picked to finish last in the Missouri Valley Conference. So if you were wondering, like the SEC Network broadcast briefly did, why one Mizzou fan was so ecstatic over the Tigers’ final field goal in their 51-0 victory at Faurot Field, don’t overthink it.
We can’t say for sure this fan was betting on the game — especially since mobile and online betting isn’t legal in the state yet — but one look at his reaction when Mizzou covered the 50.5 spread and, yeah, it’s probably safe to say he was betting.
