MANCHESTER UNITED have agreed terms for wonderkid Hannibal Mejbri to join Burnley, according to reports.
The 21-year-old will initially join on loan but the Championship outfit will have an obligation to permanently sign him next summer.
Hannibal Mejbri is set to leave Manchester United for Burnley[/caption]Hannibal is due to undergo his medical on Monday ahead of completing the move, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The deal was described as “almost there” as the midfielder enters the final year of his United contract after signing a one-year extension in December.
He joined United’s youth system from Monaco in 2019 and made 13 first-team appearances for the club, scoring once, in a 3-1 defeat to Brighton last season.
Hannibal’s sale will be banked as “pure profit” as his book value after five years at the club is now the same as an academy player.
Although Hannibal was signed in a deal worth £4.2m rising to £8m with additional add-ons, he counts as a homegrown asset.
This would help them comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules next year.
Capped 27 times by Tunisia, Hannibal spent the entirety of the 2022-23 campaign on loan at Birmingham City.
While he made 10 appearances under Erik ten Hag last season, the Dutchman felt it was best to send the starlet away again.

He joined Sevilla for the second half of 2023-24, where he played six games and often failed to make the matchday squad.
The LaLiga club decided not to exercise their option to permanently sign Hannibal for £17m.
The midfielder becomes the latest player to leave United after last week’s permanent exits of fellow youngsters Facundo Pellistri, Maxi Oyedele and Will Fish.
While Raphael Varane, Anthony Martial, Donny van de Beek, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Greenwood, Omari Forson and Willy Kambwala had already departed Old Trafford.

TOP FOUR
ARSENAL, MANCHESTER CITY, LIVERPOOL and TOTTENHAM — and I’ve got a really strong feeling for Arsenal this season. A few of Man City’s star players are getting a bit older. There’s been nothing between the two teams over the past two years.
RELEGATION
EVERTON (18th), SOUTHAMPTON (19th), LEICESTER (20th) — I like Sean Dyche and Everton are a great club with brilliant, knowledgeable fans. They’re just badly run. They need to go down to rebuild to come back again. But the key is new owners.
TOP SCORER
ERLING HAALAND — I can’t see anyone taking his crown off him. He’s a goal machine, isn’t he? If I can get him at evens, I might lump on!
MOST ASSISTS
MARTIN ODEGAARD — He’ll be the catalyst for Arsenal’s surge to the title. I can see it now. He’s a superb player and he makes it look so easy.
CARABAO CUP
TOTTENHAM — Ange Postecoglou will break Spurs’ trophy curse. Most big teams will mess about with this trophy, but Tottenham will go full steam.
FA CUP
LIVERPOOL — I fancy Arne Slot to stamp his mark on English football quickly and there’s few better ways to do it than lifting this famous old trophy.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
REAL MADRID — Carlo Ancelotti is bullish about their chances. He has said that with Kylian Mbappe, it’s the best team they’ve had for a long time.
EUROPA LEAGUE
MANCHESTER UNITED — Clubs seem to have stopped sneering at this competition. And Spurs and United should be going both barrels for it.
CONFERENCE LEAGUE
CHELSEA — The Luxembourg champions could be dangerous! Joking aside, the Blues must win it.
