But the midfielder put his celebrations on hold to help the ball boy get out from under the board.
Commentator Glenn Murray noted how Soucek had “rushed to his rescue”.
Hammers stars Jarrod Bowen and Max Kilman helped lift the boy from under the board before putting an arm around him.
He was then seen being escorted away from the pitch in tears by a steward following the scary ordeal.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Hope that ball boy is ok.”
A second said: “Ball boy seemed to get caught up as the advertising board fell down in front of the away end for that West Ham goal.
“Jarrod Bowen the first to make sure the young boy was ok – looked a bit shaken up.”
Bowen then scored the visitors second goal of the game moments later.
The game went on to end in a 2-0 win for Julen Lopetegui‘s side after their narrow loss to Aston Villa last week.
Meanwhile it was a second defeat on the spin for the Eagles after their own narrow defeat to Brentford last week.
