Jaron Ennis defends his IBF welterweight title this weekend.
Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis will take on David Avanesyan this Saturday in front of his hometown fans of Philadelphia and while there’s often pressure associated with putting on a performance in front of your family and friends, Ennis says he actually feels more comfortable this way.
“Definitely excited to be back in front of my friends and family, fighting at home in the first fight at the Wells Fargo Center. So it’s a big opportunity. I can’t wait, I’m excited. I’m ready to rock n’ roll.”
“No pressure. I feel more comfortable at home anyway so it’s going to be like me being at home, kicking my feet up basically.”
“Most definitely, but I’m not going to go in there looking for it. I’m going to go in there, have my fun and let the knockout come to me. I’m not going to look for it at all.”
“I’m not going to lie, I never even seen the other guy fight at all so I probably think Crawford gonna win [chuckles].”
“Most definitely, but my goal right now is to be undisputed at 147 so I’m going to try to collect the rest of the belts and then move up to 154 and do the same thing.”
