Shakur Stevenson looks to make for a much more fan friendly fight this weekend when he faces Artem Harutyuyan.
With Shakur Stevenson set to make his return to the ring against Artem Harutyuyan this weekend after a much criticized performance against Edwin De Los Santos, Stevenson reflects on the backlash he received and why he looks at that fight much differently.
“Several times I put out great performances and you have one bad night and everybody act like you’re not that guy,” Stevenson said. “They forgot about the Jemell Herring performance, they forgot about me vs Oscar Valdez, they forgot about Yoshino.
“You put a counterpunching southpaw that can also punch in front of me and I only got one hand, I think the greatness was the fact that I made it work that night. When I retire or when the end of my career comes, that’s going to be a fight that people look back and they’re going to understand like ‘okay, he was one of the greatest.’”
O’Shaquie Foster and Keyshawn Davis will also appear on the Top Rank card this weekend and give fans some insights into their mentalities as they’re preparing for battle. Check out the full behind the scenes video feature on all three fighters in training camp in the link at the top.
