Just as the WNBA welcomed its next generation of stars from the 2024 draft class, one legend is bidding farewell to her phenomenal WNBA career.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Las Vegas Aces forward Candace Parker announced that she was retiring from the WNBA. Parker had signed with Las Vegas last season but a foot injury and surgery left her sidelined during the Aces’ championship run. She re-signed with the team a couple months ago but ultimately decided to call it a career.
And what a career it was.
Parker finishes her WNBA career as a three-time WNBA champion and two-time WNBA MVP. She will continue her broadcasting role with Turner/WBD Sports as well.
The basketball world was quick to wish Parker the best as they looked back at an iconic career.
