Before the 150th Kentucky Derby kicks off its celebrations on the first Saturday in May, the sport will turn its attention to the Kentucky Oaks this Friday.
The $1.25 million purse is certainly nothing to scoff at, either. As the winner of the race to claim the “Lillies for the Fillies” takes home a cool $750,000. The Road to the Kentucky Oaks fielded 16 contenders and the draw was held on Saturday to see how the final 14 would line up.
