Chet Holmgren has redefined the meaning of an NBA “unicorn.” Through his first 57 games at the professional level, he’s showcased the ability to do virtually anything imaginable on a basketball court, all while standing north of seven feet tall.
The most recent proof of the Oklahoma City Thunder big man’s dominant ability on both ends of the floor came in the form of some unique NBA history. Holmgren became the first player to total 150 blocks, 150 assists and 100 three-pointers in a single season, as Daily Thunder’s Brandon Rahbar detailed.

As seen above, this came just days after San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama hit the mark of 75 three-pointers in a season and currently sits with 81 on the year. Holmgren and Wembanyama remain in an interesting battle for the NBA’s Rookie of the Year award, and it’s a race that’s expected to come down to the wire.
Holmgren is averaging 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.6 blocks per game while Wembanyama is averaging 20.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.3 blocks per game.
