January 16 – Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty of seven of the nine rape and sexual assault charges against him at Chester Crown Court last Friday.
The jury was unable to reach verdicts on two other charges – one count of rape, involving a woman aged 24 in October 2020, and one count of attempted rape, involving a woman aged 29 in October 2018 – which mean that that Mendy is back in court this June for a retrial.
