PHOENIX – The anticipation is building for perhaps one of the greatest lightweight title fights in octagon history after Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje locked eyes for the first time ahead of the UFC 274 main event.
Oliveira (32-8 MMA, 20-8 UFC) and Gaethje (23-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) were both in attendance for Thursday’s pre-fight press conference, and afterward they engaged in a formal faceoff for the first time prior to clashing for 155-pound gold.
With a combined 28 UFC bonuses between them, the action is essentially guaranteed as they go into the octagon. Oliveira will look to make his second consecutive defense of his title reign, while Gaethje seeks the undisputed championship for his resume.
