WWE security left fans baffled after they tackled a ‘fan’ who entered the ring… without realising he was part of the storyline.

The man, dressed in a regular suit, made a dash for the middle, rolling under the ropes, while AJ Styles celebrated his victory at Monday Night RAW.

But the two stewards were clearly not given the memo as they stepped in immediately, wrestling him to the ground.

It turns out the mystery man was actually American actor Rick Malone, playing the role as the pastor trying to get in place to finish off the wedding between Bobby Lashley and Lana which was interrupted last time out.

Former Riott Squad member Liv Morgan stunned fans as she made a sensational return in a bizarre twist.

Despite the brief misunderstanding, the Reverend dusted himself down and was unhurt before returning to complete his duties.

Fans, though, could hardly believe what had happened.

One said: “Dude totally got chased by security, who seemingly thought he was an overzealous fan.”

Another typed: “This was so awkward to watch. Lmaoo. They just cut to black and ignored it. I guess they were gonna use him to transition into the next segment but security wasn’t clued in.”

A third wrote: “LOLOL. We thought he was a fan too.”

Meanwhile one fan at the event added: “I’m here live, and no one knew what was happening. Someone on crew ran up and handed him a bible and that’s when security backed off.”

And a final user gave credit to the stewards: “Give that security team a raise though. On point.”
