Middleweight Hugo Centeno Jr. scored an upset win over Immanuwel Aleem, and the knockout was simply stunning.
In the event that Conor McGregor fails to knock Floyd Mayweather Jr. out with his vaunted left hand, don’t worry! There is another boxer who has come through with the goods and delivered one of the best boxing knockouts of 2017.
On Friday night’s PBC on FS1 card in Oklahoma, middleweight Hugo Centeno Jr. (26-1-1 NC, 14 KOs) was an underdog to rising contender Immanuwel Aleem (17-1-1, 10 KOs), who himself scored a sizable upset against Ievgen Khytrov in an insanely entertaining brawl. Centeno isn’t known to have incredible knockout power, but he uncorked a fantastic left hook to send Aleem crashing to the canvas and out cold. The referee waived the count at 5 because he knew Aleem wouldn’t have gotten up even if he’d counted to 500.
You can watch the video at the top of the page. It’s a surefire contender for KO of the Year. Here’s an alternate angle of the finish.

As for the main event, Ukraine’s Sergiy Derevyanchenko (11-0, 9 KOs) dished out an uncomfortably high amount of punishment in his 12th round TKO of Tureano Johnson (20-2, 14 KOs). Derevyanchenko now becomes the IBF’s #1 contender, which theoretically means he should face the winner of Gennady Golovkin vs. Canelo Alvarez, but this is boxing, so I wouldn’t count on Sergiy being next up for either GGG or Canelo.
