‘Cruel’: Sheriff says Guthrie family members cleared in Nancy’s disappearance
The hunt for the apparently kidnapped Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of television star Savannah Guthrie, has entered its third week with Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos confirming that familiy members were cleared as suspects.
“To be clear…the Guthrie family – to include all siblings and spouses – has been cleared as possible suspects in this case. The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious and are victims in this case,” the sheriff said Monday.
He continued:: “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims plain and simple…please, I’m begging you the media to honor your profession and report with some sense of compassion and professionalism.”

Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie posted a fresh video on social media Sunday evening with another emotional plea for anyone with information about their mother to come forward.
BREAKING: Savannah Guthrie releases new video on missing mom: “I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that it’s never too late, and you are not lost or alone.”

And a glove, recovered from a few miles from Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home, that matches one worn by a subject in a surveillance video the morning she apparently was taken, is being examined for DNA evidence.
Authorities have identified no suspects in the case in which they have offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie or the arrests and convictions of those involved.
There have been some 30,000 tips in the case delivered to authorities, and several notes that purportedly come from someone with inside knowledge of the alleged abduction.
President Donald Trump sounded off on the case as well, promising that one of the options prosecutors could have in the case when they make arrests is the death penalty.
