Conservatism: The success recipe for Western civilization

The bureaucratic, socialist Europe in massive economic decline struggles to comprehend why the United States has become such a massive success under conservative President Trump. While it is incomprehensible to the outdated European leaders that the U.S. could transform its economy in just one year, it may be timely to remind the European socialists about the forgotten values that once made Europe itself great. The success recipe that transformed the West into an explosive, world-leading civilization is summed up in one word: Conservatism.

Conservatism is defined as a political philosophy based on traditions, historical values and social stability, with an emphasis on independent institutions and a limited government. There is a preference for gradual change rather than Marxist, bloody riots and violent revolutions. Conservatism promotes private ownership, private property rights, individualism, freedom of expression and religion, and the worker’s right to own the fruits of his own labor. With low taxes, individuals are free to choose how they want to spend their hard-earned money. The government should not control individual finances, property, nor life choices.

Socialism, on the other hand, creates totalitarian, open-border states that control the media and society in general, fostering a groupthink tyranny where citizens are enslaved by high taxes and lack of personal freedom. While being impoverished by the bureaucratic, socialist rulers (and their globalist billionaire masters), the people are subjected to a massive level of state control and propaganda that constantly tells them that atheist socialism is freedom. The conservative recipe for success is the very opposite: Decentralization of power and an individualistic meritocracy where each citizen is free to use his abilities to pursue dreams that build a better society.

Central to modern conservatism is the deep belief in individualism. This approach means that all citizens are required to take personal responsibility for their actions and be held accountable under the law. It is law-abiding citizens that are to be protected, not illegal, criminal immigrants that have no respect for national borders, nor the law of the land.

Conservatism advocates a strong anti-racist stance by asserting that the classic Western principle of equality regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, class, or religion is upheld. Skin color is not important. Conservatism advocates equal treatment regardless of ethnicity. For example, the anti-racist stance requires that non-Western immigrants – whether from Somalia or anywhere else – are required to demonstrate the exact same personal responsibility as one would expect from Caucasian Westerners. Just as economist Milton Friedman pointed out, importing welfare recipients means that you import expenses and not individuals that contribute to the economy. Immigrants have to work in order to be useful, just like all citizens.

Victimhood based on skin color is the worst form of racism. It represents a subhuman, denigrating view of non-Western immigrants or colored citizens as if they are not capable of personal responsibility as humans. Feminist victimhood based on gender is misogyny. It demonstrates low respect for women, insinuating that women are not equal to men under the law.

Historical liberalism emphasized the individual’s right to rationally choose how he wanted to live his life, with strong social responsibility toward the community. Freedom of choice, freedom of religion and freedom of expression were backbone principles of liberal conservatism. Yet today we associate a “liberal society” with a socialist, open-border welfare state, criminal illegal immigrants and drug lords, atheism without ethics, greed, hired riots and destruction of private property, hedonism and loneliness; a society with low solidarity with law-abiding citizens. Billionaires’ wealth soars at the expense of the people as justice is bent to fit the agenda of the ultra-rich. Liberalism has been redefined to fit the socialist-globalist agenda.

Conservative capitalism was the Western success model for several hundred years, defined as an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned in a free market economy. Capitalism produced a society characterized by private ownership and private property rights, as well as healthy competition that stimulates economic growth for all its citizens. Historically, it became the economic tool that freed individuals from the constraints of medieval society structures. Capitalism has enabled billions of individuals to break free from the hereditary class struggle and succeed economically in a remarkable way.

In its original form, capitalism was inextricably linked to Christian Protestant ethics and contributed to the ideal of a society based on trust, honesty and charity where people could rely on each other. Today’s capitalism of globalist greed, devoid of morality and empathy with the lower classes, is completely disconnected from its original focus on Christian ethics. This is why we need a conservative wave across the West, not only in America.
