It’s not clever set decorating or movie magic. The Criterion Closet videos are filmed inside of a real closet — not a truck — a Criterion Collection rep confirms to Vulture. After a post from @PhysicalMedia went viral on X on August 28 of what looks to be a Criterion Closet truck inside a warehouse, movie lovers began spiraling, wondering if stars like Winona Ryder and Kyle MacLachlan were just playing the part of a cinephile in a closet that’s actually a van. Thankfully, everyone can breathe a little easier knowing it’s a practical set. Vulture followed up with Criterion to confirm what the truck was used for but in case they are still looking for suggestions, here’s some ideas.
Criterion closet should be a van that goes from town to town like a bookmobile. Children chasing them down like an ice cream truck

Please, please… please. I need someone to remake Speed but with the Criterion Closet Vehicle and it just so happens to be on the day that Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are visiting. https://t.co/zLvtB3vbLw
