The Barbz have turned on Nicki Minaj — or, well, at least one has. A Minaj superfan, Tameer Peak, is suing the rapper for slander, TMZ reported, claiming she publicly attacked him. A lawyer for Minaj denied the claims, telling TMZ, “Mr. Peak has been harassing Nicki on social media for years on end to no avail.” Peak, described as a 15-year fan, said Minaj began targeting him in 2017, when she accused him and other fans of being paid to work against her. (It’s very likely the first time the phrase “Nicki hate train” has entered a court of law.) He claimed Minaj further embarrassed him on Instagram Live in front of 100,000 followers after inviting him to her hotel. Later, Peak said Minaj implied he was mentally unstable multiple times on Twitter (like saying he was “one sandwich short of a picnic”) and called him a “stalker.” Peak said he continued to support Minaj by boosting her 2023 album Pink Friday 2, but that earlier this year, fans were messaging him to “stop saying dumb shit” about Minaj. On top of it all, he’s claiming Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, physically battered him at an event during Super Bowl weekend in 2020. Now, Peak is suing Minaj for $5 million, citing reputational harm, emotional distress, and financial loss. And the rest of us are reminded that as much as you don’t want to cross Minaj, you really don’t want to cross the Barbz.
