“I must quit comedy,” Hannah Gadsby declared in their 2018 special, Nanette. And yet, here comes their third touring solo show since that declaration — because who wants to quit when you’re that good? Woof! will make its New York debut this fall at the Abrons Arts Center. “I get the impression the world is ending, so I have decided to go down the nostalgic route over the ambitious one,” Gadsby said in a statement. “So, New York City, you’re part of a tour where I am revisiting many of my old haunts, such as the Edinburgh Fringe, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and my cousins in Sandy Bay.” Woof! begins performances on September 27 for just a four-week run. And be prepared. “This is my best ever show,” Gadsby claims. “Hands down. I might quit after it. For fun this time.”
