CES 2026: LG Demonstrates AI “Innovation In Tune With You”

At a show where AI will be a large focus of the discussion, LG began its CES 2026 World Premiere press event with a video that declared “The future is Human.” Jae-cheol Lyu, CEO, LG Electronics, took the stage to present an ambitious vision for the future of AI and how it will work to improve our lives across multiple spaces.

Lyu stated that LG asked a simple question two years ago: “What kind of AI do people need?” LG’s answer was Affectionate Intelligence. Now there is a new question: “What if AI could step out of a screen and start working for us in real life?”

The home is one of the hardest places for AI to understand, Lyu explained, because everyone and every home is different, and for AI to truly help us, it must understand these differences. Most housework, cleaning, caring for the family, and staying connected is handled by people. As a global leader in appliances and consumer electronics, LG products and technologies have a lot of touchpoints with real customers around the world, and this is where LG has a unique advantage in the AI era.

LG’s vision for the AI home is giving time back to its customers, ultimately resulting in what the company calls a “zero labor home,” where devices and AI will work together to reduce physical effort and stress to “create an environment of ambient care.” When everything works together, the home can be redefined and can provide personalized care and safety for every member of the family.

Everything starts with great devices, and LG has been a global leader in home appliances and consumer electronics for close to 70 years. LG TVs are becoming highly personalized hubs, helped by AI to understand viewers’ lifestyles and preferences. This allows products to become agent appliances, adapting and learning user preferences over time.

LG unveiled its new OLED evo AI Wallpaper TV, the world’s thinnest true wireless OLED TV at just 9mm, which includes the speakers. The TV utilizes LG’s True Wireless Technology, with a new Zero Connect box that is 35% smaller than the previous version. The TV is also 3.9 times brighter, has a reflection-free screen, and will utilize a new Dual AI Engine A11 Alpha Gen 3 processor that is 5.6 times faster and significantly more powerful than prior models. This year, LG’s webOS will integrate Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot for a multi-AI ecosystem, with voice ID that will recognize individual users to deliver personalized experiences in the TV’s dashboard.

Along with the new Wallpaper TV, LG debuted the LG Sound Suite AI, the first soundbar audio system powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which will allow users to place speakers almost anywhere in the room without wires or complicated setup, and can support up to 50 different speaker combinations/configurations.

But LG is looking to bring AI beyond the screen and into real life, and the company believes robots designed for the home will become a natural part of our most personal spaces. The company has seven years of commercial and industrial robot experience spanning across diverse sectors, and they unveiled CLOiD, a smart robot that the company hopes will revolutionize home utility.

Food prep, washing dishes, and doing laundry are among the top 10 chores customers would like robots to help with in the future, and CLOiD is designed to facilitate tasks like these.

A new line of LG Signature Series appliances will bring AI innovation into the kitchen, evolving appliances into intelligent agents, or Agent Appliances, that can perform complex goals. Large language model processing will support voice control and offer personalized recommendations for things like storing and cooking food.

Life doesn’t stop at home, and people expect to stay connected across multiple spaces, and LG demonstrated its mobility vision for autonomous vehicles and technology that will transform vehicles into smart personalized spaces, bringing AI intelligence from the home to the road, and using a combined ecosystem of technologies to improve everyday life.
