Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is adamant striker Diego Costa is happy at Stamford Bridge, but has not ruled out the possibility of the Spaniard returning to La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid at some point in the future.
Costa was recently interviewed by Spanish radio station Onda Cero and was asked if would ever return to Spain to play for his former club Atletico, to which he replied: "You never know."
Mourinho said that while he is confident Costa has no immediate desire to leave Chelsea, he sees no problem with the 27-year-old keeping his options open.
"He said that in football you never know," Mourinho said of Costa's remarks.
"Filipe Luis was one example. He could also say Fernando Torres, another example.
"Atletico is a great club, La Liga is a great league, so why should a 28-year-old player not think it is possible to go back? I don't see a problem.
"He is happy here. He has, I think, three more years under contract. I see him staying at Chelsea for three more years, no problem."
