Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay has defended David Moyes' year in charge.
Moyes was sacked on Monday and replaced by former Barcelona B coach Eusebio Sacristan.
Aperribay says Moyes did not demand any payout and also rubbished reports of a rift with the players.
"I had a private conversation with him, which I won't go into, and we ended it with a handshake. It was just him and me, at a tough time in the relationship with a manager. I hope that the same thing doesn't happen with Eusebio Sacristán," he said.
"I have a very close relationship with the players and I can say that none of them have ever come to me to talk about any manager, including David Moyes."
