Chelsea have made a move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is desperate to add to his squad when the transfer window reopens to help hit back from their woeful form this season, says the Daily Mail.
Mourinho is eager to recruit new players after Christmas and it has now been confirmed that he is trying to snap up in-form Teixeira.
Teixeira is one of the hottest players in European football currently.
The 25-year-old Brazilian has scored 16 goals in 11 games for Shakhtar this season, more than even Robert Lewandowski has notched in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
"I have an offer," Teixeira told reporters in Ukraine.
"It was a pleasure to know that Chelsea wants to sign me. It would be great if the transfer happens in January."
