Roberto Martinez says he is not going to let the John Stones saga get in the way of Everton's clash with Chelsea this weekend.
The reigning Premier League champions had a number of bids for the 21-year-old defender knocked back by the Toffees during the summer transfer window, during which time, the player remained fully focused.
As Everton get set to host Chelsea at Goodison Park on Saturday, Martinez does not expect that focus wane with Stones continuing to perform for his club despite the chase from Jose Mourinho's club.
"John has gone from strength to strength," said the Spaniard.
"He has taken the support of everyone at the football club and he has performed with incredible composure. It shows what type of player he is. Our interest is to look after every player. We are going to carry on doing that.
"I'm just looking forward concentrating on the game. I'm not going to entertain any other stories."
