SOMETIMES nothing hits the spot quite like a cheeky Domino’s pizza that’s covered in cheese and all of your favourite toppings.
But did you know there’s a secret about the app’s pizza tracker?
Well, foodies on TikTok were recently left shocked after learning that the tracker supposedly ”isn’t real”, after one employee spilled the beans on the platform.
If you’re a fan of the popular pizza and regularly order it to your door, you will know that once the order is placed you will be able to track the progress on the app.
Whether you’ve ordered a tasty Pepperoni Passion, Texas BBQ or a Vegan Margherita, the tracker is with you, every step of the way – from bake, to box, to bite.
As soon as your order goes through, Dom the Pizza Tracker lets the team know to start prepping your pizza.
Once the pizza chefs start working their magic, adding a splash of vine-ripened tomato sauce and a generous scattering of fresh mozzarella cheese, the tracker will update you when the pizza has completed the prep stage.
It’s then popped in the oven – and the tracker will tell you when this happens, so the hungry customer can daydream about all the cheesy goodness melting.
After the pizza has finished baking, it’s straight out the oven and boxed up.
Once the team has ticked all the boxes, ensuring it’s piping hot, loaded with toppings and comes with a yummy dip, your pizza is ready to hit the road – the the tracker will let you know when it’s out for delivery.
However, according to one person who claims to work at Domino’s this isn’t quite accurate, as they shared the alleged truth with TikTok user @takeawaytrauma.
The employee spilled their ”big secret that a lot of people genuinely do not know”.
”So when you order a pizza on the app, people check the ‘pizza tracker’ and think that it’s done in live time, when the pizza will actually be delivered.
”However, it is NOT real. It’s not real time tracking, what they do is guess how long order will take and the actual tracker just moves by itself.”
The worker went on to explain why the pizza chain allegedly added the special feature to their app.
”It’s just to give you the illusions and make you feel more at ease.”
Sharing the allegation on the platform, @takeawaytrauma revealed he couldn’t believe the tracker was seemingly fake.
”This is absolutely blowing my mind. A lot of people are not gonna be happy about this.

”But I actually do understand why Domino’s do it – it makes customers feel more at ease to somehow see where their pizza might be.”
Although at first the TikTok user admitted he was quite sceptical about this, he’s also since heard another Domino’s employee allegedly claim that their pizza tracker ”was always just turned off, so it automatically just updates as and when”.
The clip has taken the internet by storm, winning the foodie close to a whopping 900k likes.
Hundreds flocked to comments to share their thoughts – and while some were gobsmacked, others insisted ”that was pretty obvious”.
One said: ”I always figured it was probably just an automated thing.”
Another customer wrote: ”This is true! Mine said delivered once when it wasn’t. I rang and they got really defensive and rude. It then turned up 20 mins later.”
”I always suspected this but it’s always been spot on for me anyway…” a Domino’s fan chimed in.
”It’s always spot on. The quality checker is sometimes taking longer as they waiting for drivers to pick up and deliver,” a fourth commented.
Domino’s told The Sun ”it would be factually inaccurate to say the pizza tracker isn’t based on real time progress of the pizza.”
The spokesperson went on: “We are pleased to put these rumours to bed!
”The Domino’s pizza tracker is a live system based on real-time information from our kitchens updated, at certain points, by our in-store colleagues.
”Also, most of our drivers also use GPS so customers can even watch their pizza progress from store to front door.”
