A WACKY video of Stephen Bunting at his most bizarre best away from the oche has emerged – just as his popularity hits new heights.
But The Bullet has also revealed how the extraordinary singing and dancing extravaganza affected his game so much he had to scrap it.
Stephen Bunting is now dreaming of winning world titles[/caption] Peter Griffin made the dance famous on Family Guy[/caption]Fans preparing to watch Bunting take on teen hero Luke Littler in the World Darts Championship semi-finals were distracted by a flashback clip of him performing “Bird is the Word” – in the style of Peter Griffin.
Looking youthful a decade ago, the now 39-year-old put on an incredibly energetic display as he copied the iconic Family Guy moment in a YouTube video.
Bunting – who had a passing resemblance to the legendary cartoon dad, sparked hysterics in the background with his animated impression.
The song is a running gag in the popular TV show and Bunting’s version quickly went viral.
So much so that The Bullet was convinced to make song, a 1963 single by The Trashmen, his walk-on music.
However Bunting, who has since grown a huge cult following on TikTok, revealed the move had a negative affect on his darts.
Speaking on Wayne Mardle’s YouTube show Club 501 he said: “The Bird Is The Word, I got paid a lot of money to change my walk on to that.
“It was all well and good at the time but I was more nervous in thinking more about the walk-on than I was about playing.

“So, It sort of affected my game.”
Happily, Bunting’s current walk-on tune maintains the family connection as it’s “Titanium” by Guetta featuring Sia – for his son.
The X account which posted the oche ace’s old clip added the words: “Indomitable spirit of the Englishman. What real men are made of.”
Bunting certainly needed all of that as he readied for battle with fellow North West star Littler.
