AN update from Jeremy Clarkson’s farm has revealed it will be a “critical year” after Jezza admitted his latest pub venture had been a “total disaster”.
The official account associated with Diddly Squat Farm shared a look back at their highlights from 2024 whilst sharing an update and plans with their followers for the year ahead.
Amid uncertainty with the British farming landscape in 2025, the farm confessed that there was uncertainty moving forward.
Writing online, the Clarkson’s Farm account said: “2025 will be a critical year for the farming industry and we’ll be supporting farmers through it however possible.
“Thank you for all of your continued support!”
Despite the worries, the post included highlights of a triumphant year for the farm as well as The Farmer’s Dog pub and Hawkstone brewery.
Whilst the farm has seen success thanks to Jezza’s reality show with Prime Video, aptly titled Clarkson’s Farm, his accompanying pub venture has under-performed despite much fan fare and hype.
Jeremy recently laid bare the financial difficulty the pub has been in and branded it a “total disaster” just months on from its grand opening.
The venture made a measly £150 in profit last year – a huge blow to Jezza and the team.
Speaking about the pub in his latest Sunday Times column, Jeremy said: “Behind the scenes, then, everything is a total disaster.
“But the fact is that when you go there you just wouldn’t know.”
Further adding of recent Christmas setbacks, the star wrote in his column: “The Christmas turkeys have been even more of a disaster.
“We ordered 40 from our local shepherd, who does them as a sideline. We sold five. And we didn’t have time to address the problem as the beer was fobbing.
“Do you know what fobbing is? Neither did I. I do now. It means that instead of the beer ending up in a glass, you get to wear it.
“Most of the bar staff look like they’ve been working at a Corfu nightclub’s foam night.”
Meanwhile it was revealed earlier this week that the Diddly Squat Farm Shop would be closing for two months.
While reasons for the closure haven’t been revealed, punters will not get “diddly squat” when it comes to their award-winning produce, as the pop-up shop at The Farmer’s Dog pub is still open three days a week.
