ONE of the actors from Star Trek looks almost unrecognisable, 57 years after joining the hit show.
Walter Koenig, 88, first joined the popular sci-fi series back in 1967.
Walter Koenig is best known for his role in Star Trek[/caption] The actor played the role of Pavel Chekov in two series of the show[/caption]He played the role of Pavel Chekov in the second and third series of the original Star Trek show.
After leaving in 1969, he went on to reprise the role in the first seven films in the hit franchise.
The sci-fi star starred alongside members of the original cast in the cinema flicks.
His role was later recast as Anton Yelchin starred as the beloved character in the 2009 reboot film and subsequent sequels.
Now, Walter looks almost unrecognisable from his former on-screen alter ego on the USS Enterprise.
Before his first appearance on the show, Walter was unfamiliar with the genre of Science fiction was was one of only two actors to audition for their roles.
The last involvement he had with with the franchise came in 2023 with the release of the Star Trek: Picard series alongside Sir Patrick Stewart, 84.
Although, his voice was also used on six of the online games as part of the show until 2010.
Only his voice was used in an episode titled, The Last Generation in the character of President Anton Chekov.
His first ever role was on the pilot for the long-running US daytime soap, General Hospital in 1963.
Since then Walter has gone on to appear in hit shows such as Columbo in 1976.
The actor was also chosen to lend his voice in 2002 for an episode of Futurama, a sci-fi themed cartoon by Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons.
Other huge projects he has worked on include Goodbye, Raggedy Ann in 1971, The Questor Tapes in 1974), and 1993’s Babylon 5.
His most recent film role came in 2020 in the film, ‘Unbelievable!!!!!’, alongside Snoop Dogg.
